January 3, 2020
The demand for more rigorous and evidence-based policy making is increasing. More and more researchers are using experimental methods to evaluate the impact of policies and programmes. The objective of this new winter school is to bring together junior researchers in China who are interested and motivated to conduct their research using experimental methods in the future. Teach-in topics will include randomization, statistical power, and threats to the estimation of treatment effects. Throughout the week participants will work to develop their own research designs together with peers and the teaching team.
Dr. Maarten Voors is an Associate Professor at the Development Economics Group at Wageningen University. He is also the current Training Director of Evidence in Governance and Politics. His research is mainly focused on field experiments on formal and informal institutions, recruitment and monitoring (health) workers, rural electrification and technology adoption in (post-conflict) developing countries.
